FRENCH GP- RISE OF HOME HERO!

Sprint delivered the same old boring story of Marc Marquez win and did not setup the Sunday anywhere near to what it turned out to be as the race was set to deliver with Fabio Quartararo secured on pole. Sunday kicked off with a wet start and a red flag was inevitable and out it came leaving us waiting for a spicy restart. Drama started from the very first lap with Bagnaia down at Turn 3 with Quartararo leading. However the weekend soon turned into a nightmare for our pole sitter as he crashed early and recieved a fine plus a suspennsion for next free practie. (IT COULDN’T GET ANY WORSE). Brad Binder went down at the final corner along with Alex Marquez’s race done as he made his way in the gravel after coming out were gutting for the fan but that soon turned into a spectacle of absolute passion as the home hero Zarco found himself in the race lead with the genius decision of bike swap, gaining an impressive lead, drawing roars and cheers from a record filled Le Mans stadium. It was a moment to witness, Zarco, LCR Honda and the record breaking French GP crowd.
AVALANCHE AT ALPINE!

Alpine’s Avalanche fall began this week with the news of Team Principal Oliver Oakes announcing his retirement from the team (who’d have thought his story would be so cool), which is a shocker to anyone unaware of the history of Alpine Team Principals, and at this point. This news was then followed by Franco Colapinto replacing Jack Doohan for 5 races. It is safe to say that all of us saw it coming a mile away, more of a WHEN than IF to put it shortly. Unfortunately for us, we will never witness what else Doohan could have pulled on track just because it worked on the sim racing setup. (My wager was on the famous air-flip overtake.) It is important to mention that Colapinto himself isn’t the “SAFEST PAIR OF HANDS” out there if last year’s record is anything to go for. (The faces of William Mechanics is enough to paint that picture.) It will be interesting to see at what point do us fans get a call to try for that Alpine seat.
DAD IS DOING WHAT NOW?!

Second big headline coming this weekend has to be Carlos Sainz’s potential campaign to run for FIA president. Now before ‘Sainz-crazy’ fans go all crazy that smooth operator is gonna manage it all like Donald Trump of racing, I would like to clarify that this is his father, Carlos Sainz Sr., we are talking about here. Now, racing fans might continue arguing forever on whether Lance Stroll is the GOAT of racing or not, but the one thing that unites them all is the mutual hate towards current FIA President Mohammed Bin Sulayem. (Besides desperately photo bombing the winners of the race) fans don’t see any active efforts for the smooth functioning of the sport. Only time will tell if Carlos Senior goes through with his decision to challenge the FIA President. (It is telling of how bad a job you are doing when fans would rather have Carlos Sainz Sr. as FIA President and help make his son world champion than whatever we have right now!)
IMOLA GRAND PRIX CONTEST!

McLaren seemed a rocket-ship in Miami but that will be tough to follow up in Imola as Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes seem ready to bring out their first major upgrades on the track in an attempt to close out the gap to the front-runners. Will you play it safe weekend by choosing McLaren or take a risk over the upgrades with a potential wild card win in the air? Test your chances by participating in the Grid Master Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix contest and making your passion work to pave your way ahead of everyone!
LAWSON’S LITERAL DRIVE TO SURVIVE!

After a short-lived stint at Red Bull that resulted in nothing (except a whole warehouse of ‘30’ numbered race suits, merchandise t-shirts and hats laying there to rot), Lawson is now finding himself backed into a corner in the sister team Racing Bulls. This is not the revenge arc we expected from Lawson as he struggles to match the qualifying pace of his very able team-mate Hadjar, consequently ruining his race (where he tries to mend his relationship with Alonso by sending him spinning off the track and thus relieving him of the misery of driving that green dustbin.) Given the cut-throat environment of Red Bull, Lawson is definitely on thin ice, and this might be the beginning of his personal “DRIVE TO SURVIVE” story in the Red Bull family.
