ARAGON GP - SPRINT

The stage was set for a thrilling Aragon GP, and regardless of the result, one thing that it guaranteed was a spectacle of racing through and through. After setting a record lap in the qualifying, the start wasn’t as smooth as he’d have wanted it to be, with a blistering start by opponents sliding him to fourth, from where he then had to put up a show to peel through the crowd. (Bikers in race and Bikers in Mumbai traffic work on pretty much the same mindset, I guess.) Further back, we saw a great battle between Fermin Aldeguer and Acosta, battling for P4, not giving an inch to each other (much like Mumbai traffic). Another serious drama was brewing between Jack Miller and Joan Mir, with the latter running off the track and falling (MUCH LIKE MUMBAI TRAFFIC), and Miller got issued the Long Lap penalty. After the dust settled, it was the familiar duo making their way up to the top with Marc Marquez leading the way.

THE ICE AND FIRE!

Sometimes, sport isn’t about watching a phenomenal fight for victory, but witnessing greatness and enjoying an athlete performing at the very top of their game, and that’s exactly what unfolded in this week’s Aragon Grand Prix. Unlike the sprint, Marc got a great launch off the line with Alex Marquez and Bagnaia slotting in P2 and P3. On the other hand, Morbidelli had the start of his worst nightmare as he shuffled to P7 on the first lap. Our sweet poison came to us by the battle of Acosta and Bagnaia, which was sensational to watch, but at the cost of a clear gap now between the Marquez duo and the rest of the grid, squashing any hopes for a crazy result. We hoped for a close battle as the gap between the Marquez brothers came down in the later laps but nothing erupted from that hopium volcano as Bagnaia completed the podium behind the dominating duo.

IS ASTON ‘SOFT-CRASHING’ STROLL?!

We are tired of seeing our friends soft-launch their partners on social media while we sit with our bucket of ice cream, binge-watching Brain Rot cinemas at 2 a.m. To break us out of this very slump, we get to witness the Aston’s ‘Soft-crash’ of none other than Lance Stroll. We saw how Lance Stroll couldn’t participate in the Spanish Grand Prix due to the worsening status of his wrist after his initial injury in 2023. Rumours pointed to Lance losing his temper after the qualifying and kicking and punching stuff to self-inflict this misery on him (a ridiculous rumour as well, all know Lance Stroll is the ‘nicest’ guy of all time on the paddock). There could be no better way to retire Stroll than to blame it on deteriorating physical fitness, as Lance Stroll and Aston Martin both walk out of their misery at the other end of it. The big news, however, is will Lance Stroll will be able to make it to his home Grand Prix next week, and if not, which of the Aston reserve drivers will give up their drive at Le Mans to cover for him?

CANADIAN GP CONTEST!

If the season so far hasn’t convinced about the uncertainty this season holds then I don’t even know what can! Nothing is out of the frame anymore and there are no longer any safe bets or any ‘WILD’ bets. Put your passion for motorsport on the play and roll on your intuition to help you roll to the top of the pile by participating in Grid Master Canadian GP Conest. Bigger stakes makes the racing even spicier with each overtake translating into big impacts on the Championship table. Join Grid Master and elevate your experience of this thrilling racing weekend!

LEAVE HIM ALONE!

Of all the things in our lives, the only constant that will prevail forever is the sudden burst of confusion with our lives and the discussion of the second Red Bull seat. There might come a point in the future when we are well in our 50s, struggling with pain in joints we didn’t even know existed in our body, and we will still be discussing the struggles of Red Bull as a team. The major headline to come out of this triple header is that Isack Hadjar has now outscored both Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda combined in the points table, and everyone is anticipating a Red Bull promotion (or demotion) soon down the line. The record, however, has made this seat even sceptical than a Sauber. All of us want him not to enter the haunted den of Red Bull and take his talents elsewhere, and this should be the wake-up call for Red Bull if they want to win a Constructor Champion, EVER.

RED BULL 2.0?!

He needs to be fast, score points and not crash.

Flavio

The only respite for Red Bull comes from the fact that they do not find themselves alone in these musical chairs for the second seat, as the French team joins them in the uncontained chaos on and off the track. Alpine finds themselves last in the points table, and out of all the things, being beaten by Sauber, gotta hurt more than anything they have ever faced in the past. Doohan being replaced by Colapinto was the only certainty entering this season, and even after the Big Bang, the second car constantly finds itself way off the first. Colapinto’s lacklustre performance, coupled with the car’s inefficiency, is driving Gasly mad too, having many incidents on the track fighting the cars he used to fight last season. (Maybe don’t try it with Ferrari, no matter how bad they are, they can still outpace an Alpine.) It will be interesting to see if Colapinto gets to retain his seat and, if not, who then goes to Alpine?
