The not so shocking and completely expected news came in this weekend! Christmas came early for some while it was ruined completely for others (Mexican sponsors). Red Bull has pulled the trigger ending the partnership with their second driver Sergio Perez, who after a grace run at the start, went into a heavy downwards spiral which for everyone but him seemed a matter of concern for long while. Red Bull has gone for Liam Lawson to replace Sergio Perez, pinpointing the gulf of points between their drivers as one of the major factors for where they finished in the constructors and they expect to turn the page with these driver changes.

Even before the news officially broke out, the internet chose Yuki Tsunoda as their subject to release a full blown justice campaign as everyone strongly feels that it was Yuki’s seat owing to the time and commitment he has given to the Red Bull programme. Christian Horner admitted that it was neck-to-neck with the two drivers but Red Bull believes Liam comes with a higher ceiling to grow towards. Only time will tell if this will turn out to be THE decision for Red Bull or are we going to go through a mid driver swap again coming with a jig-saw between the two Red Bull teams.

Ferrari gave a special parting gift to Carlos Sainz by pairing him with Papa Sainz to drive few laps together in their 2022 car. It marked a wholesome movement and another wholesome landmark in the series of events dedicated to Carlos’ dedication and work all these years at Ferrari.
